A 54-unit project with shops on the ground floor, located on Avenue du Rhin in Strasbourg. In the continuity of the East-West development towards Kehl, the project site contributes to the requalification of the fringes of the Neudorf district. The North-West corner of the project is highlighted like a figurehead for the new constructions bordering the Avenue du Rhin, and thus marks the entrance to the city. On an L-shaped plot, the different volumes of the project make it possible to begin the transition between the major axis that is the Avenue du Rhin and the suburban area. The main volume blends into the urban fabric of the avenue, while the second volume and the villa at the back of the plot announce the suburban typology of Neudorf. The project echoes in a contemporary way the traditional architecture and the forms of complex roofs present in the southern residential district. Deliberately monolithic in appearance, the volume of the project appears as a protective response to the noisy environment generated by the Rhine road. The facades expand in a double-skin to form an efficient filter: acoustic filter to the north, thermal filter to the south and west. The colored glass panels, placed on an attached metal structure, randomly punctuate the facade with shades of blue, and bring a dancing aspect to the volumes, thus contributing to the signal created by the building.
