Sunny Yellow, Vivid Orange Tones Brighten Recently Modernized Schoolhouse

Expansion plans for this nearly 120 year-old school building provided architect Heico Gensheimer with an opportunity to bring both light and color into a previously conservative space. The installed glass façade strikes a delicate balance between conventional schoolhouse architecture and modern design, resulting in a complex, but aesthetically pleasing overall structure. Friendly and engaging, the new school building ensures a good mood for every child and adult who enters the building.
Color can convey many emotions to people depending on how it is perceived, and the brightly hued panels of glass in this building shift not only with perception but also with the time of day. Early in the morning, the glass sparkles with sunshine; late at night, the colors glow softly like candlelight. Yellow and oranges tones created by combinations of two to four Vanceva® color interlayers for laminated glass effectively brighten the space and evoke the warmth of sunlight even on cloudy days. Moreover, the selected colors bring instant recognition and brand value to the school.
